The Vegetarian Diet

Vegetarian Diet is a vague name to describe various dietary patterns that focus on plants as main food.
Those who follow a vegetarian diet in their diet includes, among other foods, fruits, vegetables, dried beans and peas, grains, seeds, etc...

Among the vegetarian diets can highlight the following diets:
  • A vegan diet that excludes all animal products, including derivatives;
  • A dairy-vegetarian, which besides plant foods, including dairy products;
  • A dairy-egg vegetarian, which besides plant foods, including dairy and eggs, and some also include honey;
  • The Fish-vegetarian diet, perhaps the most used, which includes fish on the menu, this diet allow the intake of all types of seafood, but is not considered by many as a true vegetarian diet.
People who follow vegetarian diets can get all the nutrients they need, however, like any other diet, should take care to vary as much as possible food intake in order to meet their nutritional needs. There are nutrients such as vitamin B12 which can be found in cereals and soy milk, for example. When necessary, vegetarians may include protein supplements, iron, calcium, zinc and vitamin B12 in their food.

This diet is very recent in terms of history and often have personal ideologies in its base, but is also very suitable not only for those who want to lose weight, but for those who want a healthier life.
